Like many Scout Troops, Troop 603 has been on lock down since March 2020. During that time, there many virtual activities have been offered but they just arent the same. At this point summer has come and gone, and we are looking at the start of the new scout season and are excited by the prospect of things sort of getting back to normal. Below are some stories about what our scouts have been up to since the pandemic started. Dear Mr.
This weekend we decided to keep out camp close to home and went to Lums Pond. We decided to keep it close so the boys could participate in a History Lesson and Tour of Old New Castle. It was not supposed to be incredibly cold, turns out the weather was wrong, big surprise. We were expecting it to be in the mid 20's, turns out 18 was more accurate. It was a bit of a cold night. Early the next morning we made some breakfast and headed into Old New Castle.
This weekend the boys participated in the District wide Fall Camporee. As with last year the camporee was held on the beautiful Granogue Historic property. The theme for this years camporee was CSI. The general idea was modeled on the board game Clue. During opening ceremonies we met the suspects and the boys were given a logic grid.
BSA Troop 603's major fundraiser of the year is going on now. If you love the smell of fresh pine, then buy your Christmas Tree at our lot located at the Iron Hill Museum, 1355 Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702.
