Troop 603 Announcements –August 22, 2012

I hope this summer has been fantastic and all are ready to begin another year of 603 Adventure!

I have all kinds of dates and information for you (and have attached a handy dandy calendar for your home posting pleasure) So hold on tight and get ready - this year is going to ROCK!

  • Wednesday - August 22nd (this week) - we kick off the year with our first Committee meeting - I encourage all (parents) to attend - this is your monthly chance to hear all troop updates and have your voice heard on trips / meetings / budget and other subjects.
  • Thursday - September 6th - Scoutmaster / Parents meeting - I will be going over ALL information for this year - scouts are welcome - but Parents or representatives are strongly encouraged to come and get all of the years info direct from the horse's (ummmm Scoutmaster's) mouth.
  • Thursday - September 13th - FIRST SCOUT MEETING!! YAY!!!! First class uniform is to be worn
  • Saturday - September 15 - 603 will continue its tradition of helping with Delaware's Coastal Cleanup! Scouts will be expected to attend - Parents and family members are encouraged to help with this worth while effort!
  • Friday - September 21 - 603's annual Beach Camping! We will be staying in the primitive area of Cape Henlopen! No extra travel time between site and beach!

Reminders

  • Medical Forms Class 1 or Class 2 must be on file to participate in trips!
  • Class A uniform required for meetings
    • Shirt (tucked in) – Pants if over 1st class
    • All hats to be removed when entering the church for meetings

Meetings

Boys Scout Troop 603 meets every Thursday night from 7-8:30PM during the regular school year.

Join us at: Kingswood United Methodist Church 300 Marrows Road Newark, DE 19701 Come in the side door on the right side of the church. We meet in the fellowship hall in the basement of the church.

Troop 603 is based in Newark, Delaware. Our leadership team strives to teach young men the skills they needs to be well rounded individuals.

We teach a variety of skills including cooking, camping, and good Citizenship in their homes, community, nation and world.

Our boy led Troop seeks new adventures every year, whether is touring the Grand Canyon, Back Country Hiking in Yosemite, or road tripping to Georgia for summer camp.
