Mr. Carlson and I both started stirring around 6:00 AM, but stayed in bed until 8:00 AM. By 10:00 AM, we had had breakfast and were cleaned up, ready to go. Chris B. cooked pancakes, it was nice to see him pitching in. The first Iguana has been captured, they are an invasive exotic animal. I’m sitting at the Island Commissioner’s house and just heard that they were going to take a boy off the island due to sunburn blisters. Need to remind Josh S. to keep covered up!

We soon headed out for a nature hike, which was interesting. Our island mates, Jim & Journey, are both very knowledgeable regarding the flora and fauna of the island. Our hike lasted about an hour. After the hike, we paddled out to Munson Rocks for some more snorkeling.

We had lunch around 2:00 PM and then went through the mangrove maze in kayaks. A lot of ducking under tree limbs! Reminded me of the Mullica River back home. Just in case I haven’t mentioned it yet, IT IS HOT HERE!!!

I had a hard time getting out of the kayak, my back is really hurting. Mr. Sharkey is fighting a sinus infection. Otherwise, everyone is doing well and having fun.

After the mangrove maze, we did the “Munson Shuffle” out to the floating docks for some shark fishing. The adults found it interesting that we were walking through the water where the sharks were located. Matt O. hooked a nurse shark that broke the line as were trying to get it on the dock. A couple of us were fishing for snapper, but had no luck.

We had a very late dinner, with clean up lasting past dark.
